Alaqmar began behind the counter, one location at a time. My co-founder, Ahmed, built it the way the best businesses start: hands-on, close to the guest, with a real operator's eye for the craft of a great store. That operator's heart is still in our DNA today, and you can feel it in every scoop we serve.
As we grew, we made a choice most companies treat as a trade-off. We refused to pick between the discipline of a real operation and the warmth of a family business. So we built both. We invested in technology, systems, and process so that quality and consistency could scale. And we invested just as hard in our people: their training, their growth, their leadership, and their lives outside of work.
Everything we have learned goes into how we run this company. The books we read, the leaders we study, the way we raise our own families. We are building Alaqmar to be run like a corporation and to feel like a family, because we believe that is how you build something that lasts.
We are still early in the journey. The goal has not changed: grow with discipline, take care of our people, and make Alaqmar a place everyone is proud to be part of.
When I took on the work of transforming this company, I made myself a promise: we would grow without losing what makes us special. I am a systems person and a lifelong learner, but the part I care about most is people. I want Alaqmar to be the kind of place I would want my own family to work. That is the standard I hold us to, every day.
