This is the slip we use in our stores to collect consent for order texts. Staff: print this page, keep a stack at the register, and attach a completed slip to the order. It is optional for the customer — never required to place an order.

Staff instructions

  1. Take the order as usual on the cake order form.
  2. Ask: "Would you like a text when your cake is ready?" If they say no, stop here. Do not push.
  3. If yes, hand them this slip. They fill in their name and mobile number, tick the box, and sign.
  4. Staple the slip to the order form and file it with the receipt.
  5. Never tick the box for a customer, and never fill it in on their behalf.

A customer who has not signed this slip does not get texts, even if their mobile number is on the order form. The phone number on the order form is for calling about the order only.
